I love this book and how it prepares you for the test. The book is very organized and goes over all topics that could possibly be on the test. It even breaks down the percentage of the topics and how many of those questions will be on the test. Love this book. It also comes with a ton of free online resources that can help you with studying.
Pros: review reading broken down by topics, with practice questions mixed in,Cons: does not physically come with a DVD, you have to send out for it. Also, I did find inaccurate information in the review book--I confirmed with colleagues/other biology professionals that some of the information in the book was indeed mistaken. Also, there is a practice test in the back. The numbers were out of order and typo-ed, so I had to hand-number all 150 questions in order to grade myself. Then, I would occasionally run into questions where the key said only one option was correct, when actually two were. Again, I confirmed this with others.Overall...there is a reason this book is so cheap. I would look elsewhere for better quality review.
Has comprehensive chapters on different sections of review. However, I felt the one test it came with was lacking. Not only is there no way to score the test after you take it, the content seems to be misinformed about how many points are actually graded out of (says 300 points over all, when ETS says 200).
I had to take the Praxis Biology at the last minute and I came across this with only 1 1/2 weeks to prepare. This book prepares you. Make sure you use this book to help you study and refresh yourself on things like genetics and cell theory/cycle. You should be good!Cons: Some of the questions have typos and editing mistakes.
This book covers everything you need to know! I have been out of college for ten years and only studied this guide before I passed my praxis!
This book has many typos, incorrect information and the answer key and practice test questions do not line up. Don’t waste your money.
This Praxis II Biology Test Prep book is incredible! It has full length practice tests, vocabulary, charts/graphs, and answers with explanations. The book goes beyond giving you the information and test advice you need to pass the exam. It guides and teaches you the material necessary to pass. Overall, I was very impressed with this test booklet. It had everything covered and was well-done. I would highly recommend this to not only to Praxis Biology Teachers but to college and high school students. Prep material is a standard and frankly, I've reviewed pretty much every name out there - Praxis, Davis and Kaplan are the ones I return to over and over. This is a prime example of why - more affordable with plenty of practice questions this either works as a primary study guide or adjunct for those needing more practice time.
