This is a very interesting and useful book regarding motor basics. This particular book was the first edition (as far as I know) but is very similar to the second edition. I gave this to a friend and coworker because he and I work on motor issues together and it's a great reference.
This is the book that I would consider a must have for any company that performs drafting / engineering. While it is dry, it is one of the best structured books for learning how to understand motor designs. I used it for reference in drafting, and while I may not have the ability to repair a motor from this book, I now have a well grounded understanding of the basic principals.
Bought this as a present for someone and he was over the moon when i gave it to him i heard him going on and on about how much he'd like it for learning about motor rewinding and such.So i have to say a big thanks to the author of this book you made a old man smile like a kid :)
This book is old school, but it has great diagrams, schematics and well written explanation of electrical principles, which don't change. The main reason I bought it is that it also has a section for motor control, which works well for wiring up panel boards to control motors.
I am very pleased with the organization of this book and particularly like that you can look at figures and pictures on one side of the book while you can flip through the text pages on the other side. I did not realize it came like that with it spiral bounding but I have come to like it.
