Fine tracks by great players! The publisher characterizes these charts as "easy to medium-easy," but don't let that fool you. They are tight, well-played, and professional-sounding. If you want to get a feel for the quality, go to YouTube and search for "Alianza big band" to find some videos of musicians playing along with these tracks. That particular track is from Book 2 - both books in the series are worth every penny.Unlike some other offering from this same publisher, the play-along track for each song is in the style of "music minus one," where the featured instrument is missing from the track, as it should be!NOTE: The last couple of tracks on my trumpet CD were defective, and I received excellent customer service directly from Alfred Music to replace these. They sent links to downloadable files very promptly - as pleasant surprise from the customer service end. Highly recommended!
Been looking for years for good play along books. This is the best yet.A full solid backing band.No midi file junk.I would rank the music choices as mid high school level.The perfect book for a player who wants to play again witha band but that does not have that option. I really hope thereare other books in this series.Can't recommend it enough.
I don't know what I expected but what I got was a fantastic big band to play along with. This is Kenton level jazz. This is not easy stuff, it challenges you every inch of the way. Great music, great fun!
