As a golf coach, I have worked with several female athletes who played golf and other sports. None was intimidated by golf or the male elitism that seems to be attached to the game. These "Greatest Women" seem to be depicted in this collection of anecdotes as having to struggle to be golfers. As P.G. Wodehouse put it, we golfers are all "dogged victims of inexorable fate." A little less victimhood and an little more celebration would have been appreciated.

It was a gift for my grandson's gf who plays. I thought she'd enjoy the history of women's golf from the women who lived it, most of whom she hadn't heard of. She was very pleased with it.
