This was one of the readers from my son's school. He and his little sister loved it so much I had to get them their own copy. Coincidentally, around the same time we read this book for the first time, some friends of mine told us the name of their son due in February. His middle name is to be Marcel! I just had to buy two copies to give in the little guy's present.
I can hear Farfallina and Marcel's voices in my head as I read the story. An engaging tale about two very different characters who enjoy being together, are kind and solicitous to each other, and though they experience heartache and loneliness, Holly Keller caps her story with beautiful and hopeful ending. Just enough words to let the pictures shine. Reality and fantasy on one small volume.
This is a tale about a baby goose and caterpillar that befriend each other. The story is very sweet, and the ending is cute. The book has nice illustrations that depict the story, and they are big enough for a small class of kids to see. It's a tale about friendship that all the kids loved.
My four-year old granddaughter loves to have this story read to her over and over again. We are always delighted by the moment, when Farfallina, the caterpillar turned butterfly and Marcel, the gosling turned large goose, realize they are long lost friends who used to play together. The pictures are colorful and enchanting. This ook makes a perfect gift for any child age three, four, or five.

My 7 year old loves this and I do too. Gentle message of friendship and reunion, after the challenge of growth and transformation.
Great addition to any children's book collection! Very cute!
This is one of my favorite children's books. I give it as a gift for births and birthdays. The parents love it too. It's message is so sweet. In a true friendship it is not what is on the outside but what is inside that is most important. People can be different and still be friends. And, I just love the names!
